Journal --
I was in need of something on my site that could be regularly updated to keep things interesting, so I decided to create a journal! Here I will chrinical my sometimes-interesting tales of life, love, adventure, and triumph (or in other words, my boring life -_-)

Today was quite interesting. I first went to school dressed in steampunk garb, to the dismay of many fellow students. I find it quite humorous how some of those unfortunate enough to have never been introduced to steampunk attempt to describe the fashion style. As one friend so elegantly put it, "Dude, you look like a preppy emo biker kid!" Also, my good friend and fellow steampunk - who I shall refer to as "The Hat" - returned to school after two weeks of absence. I was quite exited to see his reaction to my conversion, which was accepted rather gladly. After School was out, I was finally able to go to the thrift store to quell my insatiable hunger for steampunk clothing (which I am sadly short of). I ended up purchasing a vest, a long trench/duster style coat, and a scarf. I am quite pleased to finally own a waistcoat style vest to acentuate the newfound steampunkery of my wardrobe. Over all, I would say that today was quite an exquisite day indeed!

I wore my formal steampunk outfit to church today, and I was rather pleased with the responses! The adults though better of me for dressing up, and the youth liked the style of it all. Later I had choir, so I dressed more casual. No one really commented, but I could tell some liked it and others didn't. I also participated in a food drive, and we collected a TON of food for the homless and poor to have for thanksgiving =) In other news... I mostly finished the body of my calculator. My process was rather primitave, using a candle and an exacto knife to form the plastic back of the calculator into a more interesting design. Now I just need to pait it and finish attaching all of the buttons and I will be pretty much done.

Today I won my first ever ebay bid, which also happened to be on my first pair of goggles ;) I hope they arrive speedily, as goggles meak or break a lot of steampunk outfits. Other than that, I painted and attached the buttons to my calculator, only to find I'm missing the button for the number 4! Today was pretty layed back, and aside from the ebay winning, I didn't do much.
Goodbye,

Hello, and sorry for the lack of updates. Well, my goggles finally arrived in the mail today! I'm so exited. The strap was very dry rotted, so I made a new one from some elastic material (I cut up a wrap) because I don't have any leather on hand at the moment. It looks ok, but I'm thinking of spraypainting it brown (the strap, not the goggles). I am also fonding lots of creative ways to combine the few steampunk peices of clothing I have to create a wider variety of outfits and such. You probably all know this allready, but BrassGoggles is down. I am aanxiously awaiting it's return, but for now I guess I'll actually have to get a life... *sigh* Well sorry again for the lack of updatedness, I will try to do better in the future!
Sincerely,
~Prof. Vincent "Goggles" Langstaff
